Building leadership skills that stick

Culture is as simple and complex as the sum of all the actions of your people. The only way that this culture can change is when the behaviors of your people change. And who is the best influencer of individual behavior within a company? Your managers. So if you want to change your culture you have to start with your managers. Most management training programs, however, don’t work because they are focused on providing the knowledge on how to lead – not on changing behaviors and forming new organizational habits. It can be done, and it takes thinking about change in a new way. Here are some tips to get you started.

1) Training your managers to be effective leaders requires more than knowledge building.

2) The way you manage performance during a pandemic needs to be different.

3) Surveys don’t work nearly as well as putting impact measures in place to assess change. Here’s how to do it.
