- Our Story -
We See A Future Where
Work Doesn't Suck.
– where work is both challenging and fulfilling, where your manager is your coach – where they are the person who helps develop your skills and unlocks your full potential.
We are working to create this future by transforming the manager role and empowering managers with the tools, skills, and training to be better leaders of people.
We Aim To Reach This Vision By...
...living into a set of values which serve as signposts for how we show up with each other, our clients, and partners.
Embrace A Beginner's Mind
We trigger our curiosity, explore the unknown, and challenge our assumptions.
Do The Next Hard Thing
We get out of our comfort zone, challenge ourselves, make mistakes and learn from them.
Act with Authenticity
We are authentic in the actions we take, in asking tough questions, in sharing hard truths, and in showing up as our vulnerable selves.
Stand In Our Commitment
We are clear on the impact we are having on the world and take action from there.
We enjoy the journey. We laugh, play, and lead with love. We acknowledge that we are all doing our best to work toward the same goal.
There's A Better Way To Lead
I’ve always been fascinated by this one question, why when people know better do they not do better?
We often believe knowledge leads to action and yet I’ve seen, on too many occasions, this to be false.
Through studying the science of behavior change and in my direct work with thousands of individuals, I discovered what works to trigger habit formation in someone’s life. I also uncovered something about myself, a passion for helping people unlock their potential. I was hooked on serving others and was on the lookout for a way to make the most significant impact.
I didn’t have to look far. When I looked around at what businesses were doing to engage their people, I saw quick promotions, unlimited vacation days, free Lacroix and beer on tap and I knew they were missing the mark. None of these solutions provide a lasting impact. The single biggest point of leverage impacting the employee experience is their manager.
Yet, most managers are promoted because they are high performers or because they’ve been around the longest, not because they are great leaders of people.
I founded Raise The Bar to change this – to transform the manager role – by empowering each manager with the tools, skills, and habits to be leaders of people.
It’s not enough for a manager to know what it takes to be a leader, rather it’s about them moving from knowledge to action and adopting the habits of a leader.
It takes commitment, intentionality, and practice.
