Case Study

GoNanas, a women-founded and owned company, creates delicious and healthy banana bread that can be enjoyed by all. They are committed to reducing food waste and empowering women in business. Founded back during their college years, the best friends saw a need for healthy and delicious food options on campus, especially in the baked goods space.

There’s an inherent challenge in navigating a business relationship while still remaining friends. It can be uncomfortable sharing tough feedback and having honest self-reflection with each other. Additionally, it’s easy to fall back into long established behavioral patterns; it can be helpful to have a neutral third party who can identify these patterns and facilitate necessary discussions.

The Solution:

Executive Coaching, which included one-on-one coaching along with team coaching for the co-founders.

Raise The Bar Leadership Coach Lauren Flaherty worked with the co-founders to develop a common language based on trust between the co-founders. They identified and developed a clear understanding of each’s superpowers and weaknesses and created a natural division of roles and responsibilities. Coach Lauren assisted them in building a toolbox for handling any future stressors and challenges.

They also worked to develop a clear set of company values that the leadership team uses for hiring, onboarding, operations, and all other aspects of their business.

The Result:

As a result, they built a strong and resilient relationship that allows them to solve business problems and still maintain their strong friendship. The company values are consistently utilized throughout the whole organization as their North Star.
